Olive Constance Reinvik's Obituary
Olive C. ReinvikOlive was born July 12, 1913 in Tacoma to Kristine and Andrew Olsen. She was the loving older sister to Ed, Art, Karl, and John. She passed away on March 10, 2003.When Olive was seven, the family moved to Norway, so Olive completed grammar school on a small island near Kristiansund. Within ten years her family returned to Tacoma where Olive graduated from Lincoln High in 1934. In 1937, Olive married Petter Reinvik, a Norwegian immigrant who died in 1972. Olive stayed in the home Petter built until 1993, when she moved to Fox Island to be with her daughterÂ's family. Her last nine months were happily spent at Merrill Gardens in Gig Harbor.Olive is survived by her son Larry Reinvik (Beverly), daughter Nancy Polen (Howard), and brother Karl Olsen (Lois). Other survivors include grandsons, Tim Polen (Laurie), Craig Polen (Carol Ann), Aron and Justin Reinvik, sister-in-law Esther Olsen, four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank Drs. David McCowen and Richard Gray who helped Olive have an active long life. Special thanks to Dr. Needham Ward and his caring Congestive Heart Failure Clinic. A memorial service will be held March 19th at two oÂ'clock at Peninsula Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor. Memorial gifts may be made to Bethlehem or Peninsula Lutheran Churches or a charity of your choice.
