I am sorry to read of your great loss. Your mother Olive and my mother (nee: Lorna Ivarsen) were friends before your mother went to Norway as a child. They graduated from Lincoln H.S. together. My parents (Dave & Lorna Anderson) considered Pete and Olive their best friends. Olive's kind and loving watchfullness over our neighborhood while I was growing up still touches me today. Her gentle presence created a safe harbor and her attention to gardening, especially her flowers, made it always a beautiful neighborhood to come home to. I was just thinking about the reunion your Mom just had this week with the other members of the family. How Mother must have said "Oh, lets run and meet her since she is coming HOME". What a wonderful day for her - but - I want you to know you are not the only ones that will miss her. She was a dear "Aunt" to all of us kids as we were growing up. Dear Nancy, Howard, and Family,
Lois told me aabout Olive, and about her memorial on E-mail. I'm so glad to be able to see her picture and read about her life. She was a wonderful "aunt" to us as we grew up. We also loved Petter as he was like an uncle to us.
I am nunber 2 of the 8 Peterson sisters. I remember you, Nancy, altho I haven't seen you in many years. I lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 34 years so I missed seeing many I had known while growing up. We will all miss Olive. She was always enjoying life, and she was fun.
