Slaughter Family, My most recent memories of the two of you was comming into Bur's Restaurant for lunch almost on a daily basis, right around the time you got a new car reciently (Camery) and Mr. Slaughter was driving still. But being patient and accomodating to Mr.Norms needs for fast service....He was hungry when he left the house and needed to be served ASAP. So on any of the days I worked we got your meals in the window in record time!!!!! And God for bid if I was not at the cash registar right a way. It is so great to take care of some of Lakewoods finest guests!
Also, refering to the first post about the car that some how landed in your front yard. That is just proof of the fun you all had on Thursdays on Dean Court!!!! By the way that same Honda Accord is parked at my father in laws house and my be my sons first car!

Patti, Dot, Roger, Jayne, Carolyn, Kathie and Joan....
You know, all of us on Dean Ct are forever a family of our own. I have fond memories of Norm washing his van, riding a motorcycle, strolling through his living room with a passing wry joke, pausing only to lift one eyebrow and wait for a response. He was great with banter!
The last couple of times I saw him, he was so warm and sweet. Through his "fog," he still gave a great hug and made great jokes. Remember, Patti? We were in your front yard and I asked if he remembered a certain incident where someone accidentally drove a car right off your little rock wall and almost into your front door? He laughed and said, "I may not remember much, but I remember that!" His humor never left!
And, as Patti and I discussed, that now means your dad is up there bantering with my mom, Lidna's dad and Brad's dad right now. Dean Ct reunion!

Grandpa you will be greatly missed. I remember those birthdays where you would bring a lunch box full of candy. That is just one of the many memories that I will carry on with me. We found Norm to be a loving and funny man. We always enjoyed our visits with him and Joan. It seems when ever I was shopping at Michaels they were there too. Dad - I have a letter I want to read to you at the Funeral Services. Please help me to have the same strength you had as you fought to the end without shedding a tear. Watching you challenge yourself until the last breath is why I will - from now on - fight every battle in my life with the same grace and dignity that you fought.
