I had the privilege of singing with him as my Jr High school music teacher and our church choir at Central Baptist. He made singing enjoyable and always very enthusiastic. Great memories. Thx
Great guy, I had him for a General Music Class at Hudtloff Jr. High in Lakewood, in 1966 & 1967. I remember Mr. Smith remarking about the "Doctrine of Ethos" that music has an influence on one's behavior. I could see then he was a Christian and someone who cares about his students. Ed Voie.
When I was in the 8th grade at Hudtloff Junior High in Lakewood, in 1966 & 1967, I had Mr. Smith for a General Music Class. He mentioned the "Doctrine of Ethos", which states that music has an influence on people's behavior. Something I first heard from Mr. Smith. I had the pleasure of singing in the Central Baptist Choir directed by Neil. He was so full of energy and he always brought out the best in us. He made music such fun and I always loved his smile. He certainly made a positive impact on a lot of people. Karen Strombom
RIP Mr. N Smith...enjoyed singing under his direction while at Truman Fall of 69-Spring of 72. I remember him to be passionate about music, patient and kind. He leaves a legacy that very few can match. Thank you, and my heartfelt condolences to his many family and friends!!
Mr. Smith was a wonderful, brilliant, kind, and generous man. As choir teacher at Truman Junior High, he had a huge influence on thousands of people, myself included. He taught me and others the importance of music and culture for living a full life. Such a wonderful, wonderful person.

Mr. Smith was my choir teacher at Truman Jr High. He instilled in me a love for choral music that continues to this day. May his family and friends be comforted by the many lives he touched through his extraordinary life.
