Nanette L. Jesse's Obituary
Nanette L. Jesse, age 76 passed away in Lakewood, Washington on March 19, 2024 due to health complications from Alzheimer’s disease and a broken heart at a local adult family home.
Nanette was born in Duluth, Minnesota on June 1st, 1947, to Leslie and Irene Mathisen. When Nanette was a child, she contracted polio, which greatly affected the use of her right leg. Though despite her physical troubles, she was able to enjoy a happy childhood, with friends that would last her entire lifetime. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1965. A few years later, a mutual family member set her up on a blind date with Patrick Jesse, whom Nanette later married on April 12th, 1969. After the pair’s wedding, Nanette became a homemaker. She gave birth to two children whom she loved with all her heart: her daughter, Susan (Jesse) Winkler in 1970, and later her son, Michael Jesse in 1975.
Nanette was a kind soul, who made friends easily, charming all she knew with her sassy yet lovable demeanor. She enjoyed spending her time at family gatherings, going out to eat with family members (but especially with her husband). At home, she would often keep herself busy by doing needlepoint stitching, playing games, and completing crossword puzzles. She would also spend plenty of hours watching Mariner’s games and various game shows with Patrick. But most of all, Nanette found the most enjoyment in spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchild, and anyone else that paid her visits. Despite the many trials she has endured throughout her life, she always had a joyful smile and positive attitude with a loving heart. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Nanette was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Jesse; mother, Irene (Mathisen) Lueck; her sister, Terry Ristow; and her father, Leslie Mathisen.
Nanette is survived by her daughter, Susan Winkler and her husband David; son, Michael Jesse; granddaughter, Kaila Plouff and her husband Max; brother-in-law, Dennis Ristow; Niece, Nicole Twing; Nephew, Brent Ristow; the Sandstrom Cousins; and her lifelong best friends, Carol Kari and Julie Szabo.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Nanette Jesse at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden Chapel with a reception to follow, on April 12th, 2024, at Mountain View funeral home in Lakewood, WA.
