Nancy Ann Waterman's Obituary
Nancy Ann Waterman 1948 - 2013. Affectionately known as "Niki" to those who knew and loved her, passed away suddenly on June 19, 2013, at the age of 64.
Niki was born in Tacoma, WA and a lifelong Pierce County resident. She attended Eatonville High School and graduated from Mt. Tahoma. Niki's dedicated work experience began at Brown & Haley and continued on to The Flower Works Shop, which she owned and operated with her husband, Jim Waterman. From there, Niki touched lives at Pacific First Federal, Group Health, Mitsubishi, and Pemco Insurance Company/Jack Henry, where she eventually retired from in January 2013.
Niki had a passion for cooking gourmet meals for family and friends and loved hosting get-togethers at their North Tacoma home. She was an avid gardener, who loved walking her golden retrievers and riding on motorcycles. Anyone she ever made contact with felt her instant and true friendship. She gave every ounce of herself to others and never asked for anything in return. She was an amazing, hardworking daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Her family and friends were the most important thing in her life. She loved the color purple, a good glass of wine, and will be remembered for her smile, loving heart, gentle spirit, laughter, kindness and true friendship.
She was an extraordinary grandmother who would have done anything for her grandchildren. Niki is preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Simonsen, and step-mother, Beatrice Hoffman. She is survived and will forever be remembered by her father Herman Hoffman; brother Steven (Sherry) Hoffman; sister Kimberle (Frank) Pollock; sons Chad (Jody) and Ryan Waterman; her grandchildren Brandon and Aubrey; her companion later in life, Jim Vojtecky; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, countless friends and extended family.
A memorial celebrating Niki's life will be held at 1:00PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Mt. View Funeral Home in Lakewood at the Celebration of Life Center.
