Nancy Wasalino's Obituary
Nancy Mills Starkweather Wasalino, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and friend was born in Staffordshire, England on April 17, 1908. She passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2004. She graduated from Roundup High School in Roundup, MT, in 1926, and attended Teachers College in Dillon, MT.Nancy was proud of her English heritage, and that she had gone through Ellis Island in 1910 and 1914. Nancy met and married Jess Karl Starkweather in 1927; they had one son, Jack Arthur, born 1928. They divorced in 1936. Nancy then moved to Tacoma, WA, and attended Beauty College. She then met and was married to Joe Wasalino in 1937, until his death in 1982. Nancy was active all her life, she worked as a medical secretary at Allenmore Hospital for over 2 decades. She was a founding member of a local chapter of medical secretaries association in Tacoma. Nancy was a former member of the Elks Auxiliary and a long time member of the Epworth LeSourd Methodist Church. Nancy was an accomplished organist; she loved playing the organ at home. She enjoyed bridge, pinochle, and scramble. Nancy loved to travel. Nancy will be missed by Family and Friends.Survivors include her son Jack Starkweather of Billings, MT; granddaughter Debbie Helland (Jack) of Miles City, MT; grandsons, Mark (Kay) of St. Louis, MO, and Jon (Lynn) of Shepherd, MT; 9 great-grandchildren, Eric, Cynthia, Alex, and Andrew Helland, Leda, Tyler, and Jade Starkweather, Mark, and Bill Perreault; sister-in-law Alice Mills of Roundup, MT; nephews, Arthur Millls of Butte, MT, and Alvin Mills of Roundup, MT; and niece Cheryl Byrd of Billings, MT.NancyÂ's parents, Annie and Arthur Mills, brother Albert Mills, sisters Mae and Alice Mills, husband Joe Wasalino, daughter-in-law Dolores Starkweather and dear special friend Wilbur Berger preceded her in death.Visitation will be 1-9pm, Thursday, July 29, at Mt. View Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11am, Friday, July 30, 2004 at Epworth LeSourd United Methodist Church, 710 S. Anderson St., Tacoma. The Reverend Terry B. Hall leading the memorial service. Memorials for Nancy Wasalino can be given to LeSourd United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice.
