Myrtle Frances Appling's Obituary
Myrtle Frances Jones Appling went to be with the Lord on December 31st, 2025. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia on April 4th, 1925.
Myrtle moved to Tacoma in 1951 with her husband Eugene Appling, Jr and together they raised a family of six children. In 1978, Myrtle had an opportunity to meet Bertie Edwards, Division Manager of senior services for the City of Tacoma. Bertie hired Myrtle to manage the senior citizens’ craft store, located at 754 Broadway. In 1988, Myrtle became the store owner, closing it in 2012 after 34 years of serving the community.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Appling Jr, her parents, and her siblings. She is survived by her daughters Deborah, Diane, and Sandra; sons Ronald, Philmore, and Phillip; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
