Mike also had a step son and 2 other grandchildren. These photos make me so happy to look back on the time my daughter Georgia (mikes granddaughter) got to spend with him. We all absolutely adored Mike and miss him so much. He and Julie are probably up there on the golf course now ! ❤️
Mike was my daughter’s father in law. He and Julie loved each other very much and were such a loving couple. We have many happy memories of family parties and get togethers with them. He was a kind, gentle man and will be very missed
I am the proud oldest son, I always looked up to the large friend group my Dad had that loved him, and wanted him around, and all of the people we would run into around town that new my Dad and would be so happy to see him and visit with him. Not an enemy in the world. Even after my parents divorce my Mom's family still loved him like family. I am grateful for the years I had and impact he made, but I am sad my kids are missing out on a phenomenal grandfather and all of the people that will miss one of the nicest guys they'll ever know.
I worked closely with Mike at University Place School District. He always started out his workday by reading the newspaper, and brought his lunch with him (instead of buying it at a restaurant). He would bring in the jumbo box of Austin snack crackers (cheddar cheese and peanut butter) for a work snack. I bought some today and remembered him. Yes, he was a man of routine, and always had a smile for others. His memory was long with regard to all the work and projects at UPSD. He built close relationships with his coworkers, treating everyone with kindness, and I don’t recall ever hearing a complaint from him. He just buckled down and did the work.
Here he is with his Maintenance & Grounds Department in 2016. We love and miss you, Mike!
Cousin Mike was one of the really great guys in our world. Kind, funny, caring and a joy to be around. We will truly miss him.
