Melinda Helen Ellis' Obituary
Melinda Helen Ellis, 61, of Lakewood, passed away on March 6th, 2015 after a battle with cancer, where she had the support of her family and friends. Melinda was born on October 18th, 1953 in Kearney, NE. She graduated from Lakes High School in 1972 and then went on to Tacoma Community College, and later Clover Park Technical College, where she studied Nursing. Melinda worked at Allenmore Hospital for a total of 37 years as an LPN, and later on, as a Unit Secretary. On July 24th, 1982 Melinda married Greg Ellis, where they spent 32 wonderful years of marriage together. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and volunteered extensively at Idlewild Elementary School, where she eventually re-landscaped the entire grounds and flower beds.
Melinda was a devoted wife and daughter, and an extraordinary mother. She was preceded in death by her father Robert E. Lee, and is survived by her mother Elaine, aunt Helen Hansen, husband Greg, son Gary, and many cousins.
Viewing will be on Friday from 11am until 8pm at Mountain View Memorial Park. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 14th, at Christ Lutheran Church, 8211 112th St. SW. in Lakewood at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials on behalf of Melinda, can be given to the Christ Lutheran Church scholarship fund. Remembrances may be shared at www.mountainviewtacoma.com
