Melinda Helen Ellis, 61, of Lakewood, passed away on March 6th, 2015 after a battle with cancer, where she had the support of her family and friends. Melinda was born on October 18th, 1953 in Kearney, NE. She graduated from Lakes Read Obituary
Melinda was my co-worker and friend. I always looked forward to a quick cup of coffee and catching up with latest news of family and mutual friends. Melinda was always happy and very thoughtful. I will always think of Melinda when I take a trip to Watson's Nursery, look out my garden window in the kitchen and trim my tree at Christmas time. Over the years she has given me and many other friends and

Melinda was an incredible human being. She loved her family above all things. She gave so generously of her time and money to beautify the grounds at Idlewild. Everyday you would see Melinda on her knees pulling weeds, planting bulbs or assembling a piece of artwork/furniture that could be enjoyed by students, staff and parents. I remember when Melinda and I went to Joe Tyo about reimbursing her for some of the money she spent (she never did see any reimbursement from the District) but it was said that when we left, Joe was heard to say, "Doesn't that busy body (meaning me) have anything better to do with her time than stick her nose in other people's business! Melinda and I laughed about that for a long time. Her radiant smile and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. How lucky we were to know her!

So sad to hear of Melinda's passing, I have so many fond memories of her at Allenmore and all around Idlewild, Hudtloff. She was a wonderful person who just gave and gave. She will be so missed by everyone she came in contact with. Sending lots of prayers and gently hugs to your family.

My dear friend and neighbor. Vickie and I are shocked and at a loss for words regarding the loss of your beautiful wife and friend Melinda. We both have fond memories and always enjoyed stopping by when you guys were out working in your yard. Both of you are compassionate and caring neighbors and true friends. We always enjoyed stopping by when Melinda, her mom and aunt were having a garage sale. You guys always had the best stuff for sale. We believe with all of our faith, that Melinda is not in fear or pain and now is in His kingdom and now able to look upon our Fathers face.

We knew that Melinda was ill, however we didn't realize just how acute it really was. Vickie and I always enjoyed stopping by and chatting with you folks when you would be out working around the house. (Or when Melinda was sweeping up around the neighborhood). Or when Melinda and her mom and auntie were having a garage sale. You guys always had the best junk, and priced to sell. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. I just saw on Facebook from another one of our Lakes classmates, that Linda had passed away. I was very saddened to hear this.First of all I pass on my condolences and prayers to her family. I remember Melinda well from our time together at Idlewild, she was in several of my classes,and we played together,as kids. She always had the biggest, brightest smile,and never said a mean thing to anyone! If my memory serves me right I think she was in blue birds with, me or Girl Scouts.
