Maude Bertha Norton1/25/1914 - 1/6/2003Maude (Fillinger) Norton passed away at age 88 at her residence in the Franke Tobey Jones Retirement Center.Maude was a Tacoma native and an ardent booster of her home town. Although she traveled to Europe and the Far East, she always believed that Tacoma could be the equal of any place in the world. She raised her family and lived in the same house on East 35th Street for 50 years. She was active in the McKinley Hill Boosters Club after her retirement as a real estate agent.Maude was the daughter of Norwegian immigrants. Her uncle helped build Lincoln High School and she was a proud graduate (1933), as were her children.MaudeÂ's family was paramount in her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Lance Norton and brothers Clifford and Wilbur Fillinger. Surviving are daughters Kathleen Muir (Jack Manning) and Nancy Norton (Art Wang); son Randy Norton: grandchildren Melissa, Megan and Jason Muir, Kim Bandura and Alex and Sierra Wang; and great grandchildren Sage and Jordan Muir-Keung and Helen and Hannah Bandura.A celebration of MaudeÂ's life will be held at Franke Tobey Jones Retirement Center at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 11, 2003. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Franke Tobey Jones Subsidy Fund
