Dear Family of Mary Gonter,
One day I was dropping family off at SeaTac airport a long time ago and, as I pulled out, somehow scraped / bumped a corner of her beautiful red [at least I think it was red] truck. So out I got and proceeded to assess what I had just caused and exchanged information...Mary obtained 3 estimates, & I don't remember if we went through my insurance or not, but I made sure she was taken care of. Mary struck me as such a calm, pleasant, patient lady and one day when I happened to be looking at one of those shopping channels I decided to surprise Mary with a little-something. Well, I had so much fun surprising her that I did it quite a bit...cow/chicken ceramic butter-dish, cookie-jars Halloween / Christmas, David's cookies / brownies, one of those 8x6-plush-throws that came with fleece-lined slipper-booties. Oh, I think there was a polar bear somewhere if I'm not mistaken; aside from that, what I looked forward to the most was her occasional card or letter - I saved every one of them. I plan to make a "Mary collage board" - but this was all before I learned of her going home to her Lord. I just found out today, which is why I am just now writing. I had to tell you how I met Mary.
My mom passed away when my twin-sister and I were age 6 while living in Wales, so my Dad was both parents until he passed in 2001. By no means was I looking for anybody or anything, which is another reason why I never said anything about what I was sending...I just enjoyed the warm feeling of giving and knowing it was a surprise and that she loved it, that made my heart jump for joy. Then when she sent cards or notes those were special, too. My stepmom landed me in the hospital when I was 13 with a cut artery and two tendons...growing up wasn't easy [Dad's company sent him to his sister company in Melbourne, Australia where we lived for three years and that's where Dad remarried]. That's old news, Mary's letters and cards were a bright beacon of light for me.....I so looked forward to them. I had a tragic event in March 2014 which caused a great hardship for me and my life came to a standstill, I couldn't do anything or hardly function for quite sometime; although I'd read Mary's letters / cards every now and then. Always in my heart and prayers, I didn't write but kept praying for Mary. The Bible also is my #1 inspiration. My heart sank when I saw the word "obituary" in the same paragraph with Mary's name and the town of Blytheville, Ark. I remember talking to Mary when she first came there...she was so happy .
Ok, I've talked your ears off enough; it would be nice to talk or meet with you if you if you think appropriate. Perhaps when I complete my "Mary" board...I could make a copy and give you the original ? Think about it.
In Jesus' name, Ingrid
