Aunt Mary was the little (and only) sister of my mother, Fay Greiffenberg, and was like a big sister to me. I recall sharing many festive and fun occasions with her, but I will most remember the faith and determination with which she faced the hardships in her life. She always did the best she could--no matter what the task or circumstances--and her attentiveness to details remained with her throughout her life. In fact her attention to the tiniest detail was the source of a private joke we shared and laughed about two weeks ago when I last saw her. Her attentive and thoughtful nature also displayed itself in the holiday and birthday greetings and gifts that she prepared for the members of my family down through the years. This week I would have visited her with a Valentine gift of chocolates (she never seemed to lose her taste for those either!). Now I want to send her this Valentine message for all seasons to come:
Dear Aunt Mary,
Thank you for everything you've done and for being who you are. I love you and will miss seeing you very much, but will always hold you in my heart. God bless you.
Hugs and kisses, Karen.##imported-begin##Karen Woldtvedt##imported-end##
I want to express my sorrow at Mary's death and my condolences to her family. I will miss visiting her in Tacoma, and her occasional visits to our home in the San Juan Islands. She was a great part of the Healy family--and a most welcome part of ours.##imported-begin##Gerard Woldtvedt##imported-end##
