Marv was one of my favorite teachers at Wilson, class of 1960. He was always a teacher to look up to and inspired many of his students to go on to college and greater things. As we plan our 45th class reunion with Stadium we will be thinking of Marv as a teacher who made a difference to many of us.##imported-begin##Pat Crawford (Ryan)##imported-end##

Since I will be unable to attend your services today I want to take this opportunity to say "Goodbye" to one of the finest gentlemen I have ever known. You were a classic role model to all who came in contact with you. I condsider myself very lucky to have known you. I will miss being able to visit with you at the Old Jocks and Tacoma-Pierce County Baseball & Softball Hall of Fame gatherings. Looking forward to seeing you again when the ultimate UMPIRE says "batter up."##imported-begin##Vernon Kohout##imported-end##
Mr Scott was a cherished teacher of mine at Wilson High School. I graduated in 1977. My friend Kari and I originally took his class because we were avid baseball fans and went to every game of the then Tacoma Twins at Cheney Stadium, and knew he was a scout for the Cardinals. We found Mr Scott to be way more than just a "baseball" guy, he was a great teacher, and I will never forget the lessons I learned from him. I have lived a better life for having known him. I lovingly send my condolences to the family and friends that survive him.##imported-begin##karen mobers##imported-end##
Graduated Class 1955. Marv was the person who inspired me to be a high school coach and history teacher for 30 years. I think and speak of him often. God rest his soul.##imported-begin##Dennis H. Johnson##imported-end##
Dear Mary and my cousins: I am so sorry I can't be there today. I am in Arizona and leaving for Mexico. I have such good memories of my uncle and he was along with Mary such a comfort to my mom. I will never forget a family 4th of July picnic at our home when Marvin found out I was dating the star pitcher from Clover Park who he tried to sign but alas he signed with the Pirates for the huge sum of 3.500.00 dollars. He said" He won't even know how to pull his socks up right on the mound". He was probably right as I never did found out what happened. He was the best and I am proud to say he was my uncle. God bless and my thoughts are with all of you. Love, Sharon##imported-begin##sharon waddell##imported-end##
