Marna J. Clark's Obituary
Marna J. Clark, 85, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on October 8, 1940, in Tacoma to Arnold and Martha Taylor, Marna lived a life devoted to faith, family, and her community.
Marna married the love of her life, Jack Clark, and together they raised three children, creating a home filled with love and laughter. She began her career working in a few different occupations, but her greatest calling was a devoted wife and mother. Later, she served as a school bus driver for the Tacoma School District, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
A woman of deep Christian faith, Marna was first a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tacoma, where she contributed tirelessly as an organist, bookkeeper, chaperone for church outings, committee member, and joyful participant in the Bell Choir. She also drove buses for Emmanuel Lutheran and Jefferson House. Later, she became a member of First Lutheran Church, continuing her lifelong dedication to worship and service. Her love for music extended beyond the church wall. Marna was a member of the Organist Guild and shared her talents by playing for weddings, funerals, and services throughout the community.
Marna’s commitment to service reached far and wide. She supported youth sports as a registrar for both Tacoma Pierce County Junior Soccer Association and NORTAC soccer club as well as led the Booster Club for the Tacoma Stars. A passionate soccer fan, she was a proud and loyal supporter of the Seattle
Sounders.
Creative and caring, Marna loved knitting and was an enthusiastic member of the Knitwits. Yet, her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Marna is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Scott) Frisina, of Greensboro, NC; her sons James (Maylin) Clark and Richard Clark, both of Tacoma, WA; her granddaughter Taylor Foster (Stephen) and her grandsons Keoni Clark (Kim Le) and Andrew Frisina. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Clark.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church located in Tacoma, WA.
