Maria Connie McMillan's Obituary
In loving memory of our dearest mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria peacefully went with the Lord at the age of 87, April 24, 2004 in Puyallup, Washington. Maria was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank A. McMillan and Perry Palmer; her brothers, Frankie Gardner and Bobby Gardner; sister, Angelina Jones and grandson Aaron Houston. Maria and her late husband Frank moved to the Tacoma area in the mid 1960Â's when they purchased her dream home, Thornewood Castle. Fond memories will always be recalled for MariaÂ's passion for education, performing arts and the Republican Party as MariaÂ's tenacious personality has inspired her to coordinate numerous fundraising events, during her 30 years at Thornewood.Maria fluently spoke seven different languages and made friends throughout the world during extensive travels. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, love for her family and appreciation for all cultures. Maria is survived by her son, Charles Wilkinson; daughters, Roberta McMillan, Angel Shrope and Jeanene Lenz; sister Virginia Alves; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She will forever be in our hearts.Viewing will be 5-9pm, Thursday, April 29, and 4-9pm, Friday. A Rosary service will be held 7pm, Friday, in the Mt. View Garden Chapel. Funeral service will be 1pm, Saturday, May 1, 2004 in the Mt. View Garden Chapel.
