To Roberta, Angel, and Family. I was lucky enough to know Connie since 1965. As you might remember, 3 bachelors rented an apartment in Thornewood. We stayed 5 years from 1965 to 1970. Those years are full of fond memories for me. Connie and Frank and I became friends and remained friends, as a result of that association. She was a special person, and I very much enjoyed her personality and spirit. As I recall, she included me in many activities and parties, almost like an adopted member of the family. In about 1974, Connie, Frank and I travelled to Guatemala for a lengthy stay of almost 2 months, where we had the hospitality of the Sinibaldi family. What a fabulous vacation, including the Mayan ruins at Tikal,
Antiqua, Lake Atitlan, a resort on the Pacific Coast, etc. Frank McMillan passed away shortly thereafter, but Connie and I still retained our communications and friendship through the following years.
Coincidentally, I knew Perry Palmer as one of my golfing partners, before he married Connie. So there were many more years where Connie and I kept in contact after she married Perry. In fact, Connie visited my parents at their home more than once, and knew them personally. My parents passed away in the mid 1990's, so I understand your pain. I was there to comfort and care for each of them, during their last days.
In summary, Connie was always a pleasure to know, to visit, chat with, etc. and I feel we had a special bond.
She was almost like a second mother to me. Connie was a classy lady. I will miss her friendship and twinkle in her eye.
You all have my condolences and deepest sympathies. God Bless each of you.
