Maggie was such a blessing to all of us who were fortunate to know her. As a kid growing up in Oakland I always knew that I could go to the Ehnat's and be welcomed and embraced by her. She was cute as a button, always smiling, and had an endearing personality that made everyone feel better about themselves when in her presence. Her diminutive physical stature belied the size of her heart and her capacity for generosity. It was obvious to me the first time I visited their home how much she loved her family . . . family, especially her boys, was ever so important to her! I hadn't seen Maggie for approximately 40 years, but about 5 years ago my wife and I visited the old neighborhood and stopped in to see her. She welcomed us into her home - almost as if that 40 year gap had never transpired. We spent about three hours reminiscing and talking about her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She beamed from ear to ear as she showed us pictures of them all, and then wanted to hear all about our kids and grandkids. After we left my wife remarked, "I really enjoyed that; she is quite a lady." Yes she was. John, Eddie and family: our prayers are with you all. Bill & Carol Ayers
