Marcia Jane Zimmer's Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie & friend has left this earthly life on Saturday January 16, 2010. Born April 4, 1927 in Hoodsport, Wa. Her grandmother Ida Robbins Finch was one of the first pioneer families to settle in Hoodsport in 1878. Marcia was called Jane by all who knew her. Her first job was working with her mother Hazel, as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone, out of their home. She married the love of her life Cecil M. Zimmer on August 9th, 1946. When he came home from World War II they lived in Lakewood where they raised their five children. Jane worked part time at the B&I Pet Shop and Zoo where she helped take care of Ivan the gorilla. Jane and Cecil retired in 1979 and moved to Salkum, Wa. They enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel trailer and wintering in Yuma, Arizona. She leaves us with countless memories of her love and devotion.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Cecil, her brothers Burke Bleecker (Audre) and Bob Bleecker (June), daughters Sandy Morley, Sue Luteman (George), Shirley Dauth, Janet Delgado, son Don Zimmer (Casey), eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Bleecker and sister Doris Gee.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, January 22nd, at Mt. View Celebration of Life Center.
