As we remember Ms. Maggie, there is a poem written by Helen Steiner Rice that comes to mind entitled "Heart Gifts."
It's not the things that can be bought that are life's richest treasure. It's just the little "Heart Gifts" that money cannot measure...A cheerful smile, a friendly word, a sympathetic nod are priceless little treasures from the storehouse of our God..... they are the things that can't be bought with silver or with gold, for thoughtfulness and kindness and love are never sold.....They are the priceless things in life for which no one can pay, and the giver finds rich recompense "In Giving Them Away."
We will all miss Ms. Maggie. She indeed had many "Heart Gifts" stored within her, and she was always truly giving her heart gifts away. We all loved her, and we will miss her beautiful smile, kind words, and friendship.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.##imported-begin##Adella Adams, Neil&Bonnie Adams, Brenda Leach, Dale&Cynthia Adams, Beverlee Adams Parker & Family##imported-end##
What lovely memories I have of Maggie and Drew during their years together at UPCC. They had a bond between them that neither could express verbally, but could with such love, just by using their eyes and their smiles when they saw one another. The great blessing I received while Drew was at the Care Center was to know you and Maggie as friends, Luke. That friendship will be treasured always and I feel a true void in my life knowing that Maggie has left us. The time I spent with her always gave me so much more than I ever was able to give her. Butwe are comforted by the fact that she is in the arms of her loving Heavenly Father. May our ever faithful LORD give to you, Luke, and to Candy, Gwen and your dear family, the peace that only He can give. Bill and I both give you our love and we will keep you in our prayers.

To Maggie's Family,
I like to send my condolences to you.It has been over three years since I have worked at the University Place Care Center but I have not forgotten about Maggie.Everytime that I would stop by for a visit, she would greet me with her special smile and her sweet hand kisses. For the three years that I worked there, she became my favorite patient even though Luke almost made it impossible for me to care for other patients but he allways repayed me with a Starbuck Pastry :-)
Everytime my kids would stop by at work, they allways knew where to go!
Maggie allways had some goodies in her drawers and made sure they all recieved some.Even after I wasn't working there anymore,my kids pictures were still hanging on the board.
To make a long story short,Maggie was a special person and will be greatly missed by everyone that she touched in her life!
Sincerely Sandra Blount and Family!##imported-begin##Sandra Blount##imported-end##

Maggie was a warm and caring woman and she always took time to know what was going on in my life. She made me feel at an early age as if I had potential. As a young boy my Father would bring me to the Bryant house to get a hair cut at Luke’s “home†barber shop. More likely than not there were more of my Dad and LukeÂ’s cronies talking sports, politics or whatever as Luke went to work trimming and cutting. Being of a different generation boredom would often plague me, and it was Maggie or Gwendolyn that would come to my rescue. They would take me into the rest of house, and IÂ’d watch Television or talk to Maggie, Gwendolyn or Candace until my Father was ready to leave. Occasionally it was only Maggie and myself. It was at those times that she would impress upon me in a very caring and personal way the importance of taking advantage of all the opportunities in life and doing well in school. She was always encouraging me.
All though itÂ’s been years since IÂ’ve seen Maggie, I truly feel your loss. My heart and prayers go out to you all. Luke, Gwendolyn, and Candace, please accept my condolences. May good comfort you with his love.##imported-begin##Sid Breckenridge Jr##imported-end##
