Lois M Christensen's Obituary
Lois Margaret Thorsen was born in Tacoma, Washington on December 15, 1933. Her parents were Oscar Waldemar Thorsen from Pitea, Sweden and Louise Easter from Tacoma, WA. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bert Thorsen.
Lois married Warren Hans Christensen on May 29, 1954 in Tacoma, WA and enjoyed 60 happy years of marriage. When Warren graduated from the University of Washington, they moved to California where their two children, Cynthia and Marc were born. They lived in California for 22 years, and in 1979 they moved to Gig Harbor and in 2006 to Fox Island.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Christensen; her daughter Cynthia Bonney (George); her son Marc Christensen (Janet); three grand-children, Kristin Bonney Anderson (Wes), Greg Bonney and Eric Christensen; and one great grandchild, Parker Grace Anderson.
She loved all music, but she especially loved to dance to country music. She was a member of the Gig Harbor Eagles and the Guns and Garter Dance Team. She loved to cook, garden, dance, sing, and take road trips. She loved everyone and showed great kindness to all.
We want to thank Harbor Place staff for all the kindness and care they gave her. She considered everyone there her "buddy". We also want to thank all of her friends for their support and Franciscan Hospice for their wonderful care. We will miss her greatly!
A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 10th at Mt. View Memorial Park in Lakewood, WA. Remembrances may be shared at www.mountainviewtacoma.com.
