Goodbye to Lois –
We first met Lois and Warren over 25 years ago at dance lessons at the Eagles Club in Gig Harbor. It was obvious after spending very little time with Lois that she was a very sweet, gentle, fun-loving person.
Then as we got to know her more, we found out that early in life, Lois was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. After doing a little research we learned more about what she was going through. Rheumatoid arthritis is actually a painful autoimmune disorder where your immune system mistakenly attacks your own body's tissues. In addition to causing joint problems, rheumatoid arthritis sometimes can affect other organs of the body — such as the skin, eyes, lungs, and blood vessels. And we know Lois had many of these issues but what impressed us was that, despite all of the problems, Lois always made a choice to be gracious, happy, and positive.
Lois chose to live life. Some would say that she could be ditzy at times and, to be totally honest, once in a while Lois was ditzy, but ya know we think that was just Lois’ way of coping, Lois’ way of choosing the fun-side of life.
You didn’t have to talk to her very long before you knew what was really important to Lois. She was so proud of her kids – if you brought up Cindy or Marc in conversation, Lois would physically brighten as if a thousand lights had come on. Lois’ life revolved around her family, her home, and the love of her life, Warren.
Now let’s talk for a minute about Lois’ purses! We actually did not know anyone could pack as much stuff as Lois could cram into a handbag – Rick Steves would be so proud of Lois!
We started this by wanting to say GoodBye to Lois but really, GoodBye doesn’t quite feel right so let’s just say, So Long and if we’re lucky we’ll meet again.
