I grew up on Ainsworth Avenue a few houses north of the Silver home and knew Lloyd very well. We all admired him although we were closer in age with Dexter and Ardelle. We followed LLoyd's football playing for Stadium High School and envied his convertible car. I will always remember Lloyd's parade entry on a decorated bicycle with Bobby Miller riding on the front shouting "Hi yo, Silver" as they rode along the parade route. I always wondered in later years if Bobby was the "Lone Ranger" or whether the "Silver" referred to Lloyd's last name.

Lloyd was a wonderful mentor and a "get the job done", man. He joined
the board of The Children's Museum of Tacoma and was very helpful
as the Museum expanded and provided a special place for children
and parents. I enjoyed working with him on projects and taking note of his expertise
in the business world. He would send out emails regularly to offer advice and usually
inserted a joke or two. He will be missed, but his legacy will remain for all who knew him.

I worked for Lloyd some 45 years ago. He was one of the kindest and best bosses I ever had. He was truly a good man. I had the benefit of seeing Lloyd a couple times when he
was visiting J.L. Darling as I worked next door.
Todd, Scott and Stacey, I am truly sorry to hear about your dad. My condolences to you and yours. I feel very blessed to have had him in my life.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of Lloyd to all of the Silver extended family. Especially sending condolences to Stacey Todd and Scott on the loss of your Dad. I felt lucky to have known Lloyd during my 30 years in Tacoma #8 Rotary. I will have always have great memories of my friendship with Lloyd in Rotary.
