Leslie Gordon Cooley's Obituary
Leslie G. Cooley was born on Sept 26, 1916 in Ryder, ND, and passed away on July 21, 2005 in Tacoma, WA.Leslie served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935 at the age of 19, and moved with family from Ryder to Tacoma in 1937. He resided in the Tacoma area ever since. In March 1944 he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns of World War II with the 513th Parachute Infantry Battalion. After his discharge from the military Leslie came back to Tacoma where he worked as a Teamster. He was a lifetime member of VFW post 10018.Leslie was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Betty; special friend Evelyn; brothers Ray, Ed, Earl; sister Della; and parents Faye and Bertha Cooley.He is survived by sons Charles (Cassandra), Ronald (Gwen), Roger (Linda), Terry (Marie); daughter Debbie; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers Barto, Fern, Robert, Gene; as well as sisters Edith and Eyvonne.A viewing will be held from 3:00 PM Â- 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in Mountain ViewÂ's Valley Chapel.
