Leon E. Erickson's Obituary
Leon Edward Erickson died April 12, 2006, in Tacoma, WA. He was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Bronnoysund, Norway, and, at the age of 4, immigrated to the U.S. with his parents and brothers.Leon was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God Life Center where he served many years as a Deacon. He graduated from Stadium High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps (8th Air Force) in WWII as a bomb loader, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Leon worked for Sears in Tacoma and retired after 45 years.He was married to his wife Marian for 54 years. She preceded him in death Jan 1, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Arvid. Survivors include his children: Janice Larsen (Don), Karen Hopper (Jim), Al Erickson (Connie); grandchildren: Karl, Jon, Jennifer, Angela, Stephanie, Joel and Adi; great grandson Gavin; brother Roall Erickson; and many other family members. Viewing will be today, Sunday April 16, from 1:00pm Â- 9:00pm and Monday from 10:00am Â- 9:00pm. Memorial services will be 10:00am Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in the Mountain View Garden Chapel with a reception following.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. JosephÂ's Hospital Rehabilitation Unit.
