Leon Edward Erickson died April 12, 2006, in Tacoma, WA. He was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Bronnoysund, Norway, and, at the age of 4, immigrated to the U.S. with his parents and brothers.Leon was a lifetime member of First Assembly of Read Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we say good bye to Leon. We know that he is with his Lord and loving wife Marian. How difficult it is to say goodbye. You have made a lasting impression in my life, and you have always had a special place in my heart. You leave behind a shining legacy of the many things you held dear: God, your wife Marian, your children, grandchildren and extended family. I cherish time spent with you and Marian and the entire "Erickson family". Your devotion to your family, and your strength and integrity have left us all a shining example to strive to follow. I recall some wonderful stories of your travels with Al and Evie, your international travels and your never-ending joy in seeing new faces and places in the world. I consider myself a very fortunate woman to have had the wonderful opportunity to be welcomed into the family of Leon & Marion Erickson as their daughter in law. They openly accepted me and my children and never once made us feel less than one of their very own. Leon and I had a very special relationship that spanned many years. He loved to tell the story of the silly girl who stood out in the rain across the street with a newspaper on her head just to get a glimpse of the "prince". We would delight in making each other giggle, he with his quirky sayings and I with my feisty comebacks.Yes, he could be stubborn and demanding but oh so loving. I will never forget his devotion to Marion as her health declined and will forever remember him reading her obituary every night before he went to sleep. We should all be fortunate to be loved that deeply. Although I will miss him beyond words, I delight in the fact he and his love are back together again. I met Leon in the 60's while working at Sears he was a mentor and a freind....years later we would meet again and share memories and fun...much laughter...Mary Kate and I would run into Leon and Marian in Seaside what a hoot...always cherish the love and laughter and remember you are all in part who you are today because of him and he remains alive in all your hearts!
