Laurencia Baltazar's Obituary
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and auntie Laurencia Baltazar, 85, passed away on January 19th, 2020. She was born on November 15, 1934 in Ewa, Oahu Hawaii, to Adriano Abatayo and Brehida Tampac. She is proceeded in death by her husband of fifty years, Urbano, her son Robert, her parents, her step father Lucas Pasion, sister Katherine, and brother Randy.
Laurencia is survived by her loving children Roland (Joy), Estrelita (Lynn) Geiger, Roderick (Cathy), Reuben, Rodney (Debbie), Randolph (Jocelyn), Ronald (Maria), daughter-in-law Linda (Dave) Largent, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Adriano (Vera) Abatayo, Lolita Bilonta, Priscilla Simao, Pat (Mike) Sekigawa, and Draline (Gene) Arnold.
Lorraine treasured spending time raising her family. She was a devoted wife and compassionate mother. Her face would fill with joy when she held a baby. Her gracious spirit shone in everything she said and did. Every one of her children and grandchildren were her favorite.
She expressed her love through welcoming everyone into her home and cooking for them. Some of her hobbies and interests were crocheting, spending time in her garden, watching the Mariners and Seahawks, and playing slots at the casino. She enjoyed traveling to see her family and friends. She also spent time with her friends from the Pau Hana group. She was a faithful parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Tacoma, and supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Her family wishes to express their endless gratitude to Larry, Lydia, and Lindsey Agmata. Their love and care for Lorraine this past year has been a tremendous blessing to the entire Baltazar Ohana.
Lorraine’s final selfless and caring act was to bring all her family back together. For the last week of her life on this earth she was surrounded by her children, and now she is eternally reunited with her husband and her son.
Your family will carry on your legacy. Your gentle eyes and accepting demeanor will never be forgotten. Your calming voice will forever be engrained in our hearts and in our minds. Things won’t be the same without you and you will be dearly missed. We will honor you in how we continue to love our family and how we welcome those who walk through our door. Thank you, Mom and Grandma, for making our lives so rich and full. Aloha, until we meet again.
