L. David Pease's Obituary
Leslie “David” Pease, 82, of Tacoma, Washington, passed peacefully on Friday, October 27th, 2017.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 18th at Tacoma Golf and Country Club at 13204 Country Club Dr. SW, Lakewood, WA, 98498.
David was born the youngest of four boys on March 20, 1935 in Tacoma, Washington to Elsie and D.W. “Shorty” Pease. After attending Lincoln H.S. he joined his brothers Ron, Jim, and their father at the family construction business. After countless grueling hours and many sleepless nights, David and Jim grew the business into the well-respected mechanical, general contracting and commercial company that it is today: Pease and Sons, Inc.
David is survived by his four daughters: Lisa, Anne (Scot), Janis, Michelle (Tim), his grandchildren Jacob and Maria (Stephen), nephews Bill (Lynn), Bob (Linda), Stephen, Gordon (Ann), Loren (Diane) and Darron (Joanne), nieces Mary Ann, Patti (Joseph) and Karen (Bob), sisters in-law Nelly, Ramona and Darlene and many other great-nephews, nieces, cousins and his loving wife, partner and best friend of 49 years, Claudia.
He loved life and enjoyed pleasure boating where he was a member of the Tacoma Yacht Club. A major accomplishment was winning the North American Predicted Log Championship in Marina Del Ray, CA in 1980. His love for boating led him to building a waterfront home in Roche Harbor where many weekends and summers were spent. David loved to travel, take cruises and enjoyed driving his motor coach throughout the US and Canada, spending extended amounts of time, with Claudia as snowbirds in their home in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he was often found playing golf and blurting out expletives. Perhaps his greatest passion was for the Arabian Horse where he deeply loved their beauty and thoroughly enjoyed watching Janis and Michelle show them at a regional and national level. The Pease Family has become a staple in the Arabian Horse World and David would always be seen carrying a groom bucket and was known for his fist-pumping when Michelle won.
David is joined in Heaven by his mother, father and brothers Joseph, Jim and Ron. He was a mentor and friend to many and will be missed by all.
