Kyong Su Owens' Obituary
Kyong Su Owens, known to many friends as Su, and to the Korean community as “Alpha’s Mom”. She was born November 20, 1950 in Seoul, Korea and grew up in Osan, Korea. She was the third of four children born to the union of late Joon Man Kwon and late Ki Soon Choi.
In 1976, she was united in marriage to Lee P. Owens, Jr. To this union, two children were born (Alpha T. Owens and Petrina I. O. Halby). In 1985, her son, Johnney Kwon joined his mother and her husband Lee. Also in 1985, she attended the wedding of her oldest daughter Young Sook Cho.
Kyong Su worked many jobs. Babysitter for friends while raising her own children. Preparation cook in various restaurants. She retired from Madigan Army Medical Center where she was an environmental services custodian for approximately 20 years.
Kyong Su leaves many beautiful memories for her family to cherish. Her marvelous cooking skills and ability to grow beautiful plants and flowers will be missed.
She is survived by her spouse, Lee P. Owens, Jr.; children, Young Sook Cho (known to family as Annie), Johnney Kwon, Alpha T. Owens (Bonnie Owens), Petrina I. O. Halby (Elliot Halby); 11 grandchildren, Kwan Hyung Park, Sang Hyung Park, Ash R. Kwon, Elias Y. Kwon, Aila Y. Kwon, Aiden T. Owens, Asa T. Owens, Avery T. Owens, Arlo T. Owens, Brandon L. Dale, Daryn M. Dale, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
