Kumiko Sato Hilario, age 80, of Lakewood, WA. passed away peacefully on January 5, 2006. She was born on April 11, 1925 in Niigata, Japan. She came to the United States 50 years ago, living in California and settling in Lakewood s Read Obituary
To Dearest Ann and Sadao, We offer our sympathy and prayers at this time of the death of your Mother Kumiko. She was a wonderful mother, grandma and friend to her family. We are lucky to have had her in our lives and will never forget Kumiko and her quiet and loving way. We hope our prayers and love will comfort you at this time of sadness and sorrow. We love you!

My condolences to the Hilario Family. Although I did not know Kumiko personally, I spent 6 months in Afghanistan with her son Sadao. We shared living quarters, meals, and friendship and I can say that Kumiko must have been a wonderful Mother because she raised a son that became a true friend.
May the Lord help you through this time but remember that she is in a better place and has no more pain.

We were so sorry to hear about your mother's death. We only hope that it is some comfort to you that she is no longer suffering. She was so proud of you and your family. You and your sons are her legacy, a pretty wonderful gift to all of us. We were fortunate to have known her and we're amazed to learn all she accomplished during her lifetime.
