Kent Rogers' Obituary
Holland (Kent) Rogers went to be with the lord, he passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him. He cherished his wife Pat, his children, grandchildren and their families, his friends and his cat Peyton, who never left his side after becoming ill. Kent was a devoted husband and father. He was an avid sportsman who loved all types of sports; he was an all-star athlete in high school in both baseball and basketball. He enjoyed attending both college and professional football and basketball games with Pat and friends. He loved to travel spending time in Lake Chelan and Seaside Oregon with his family and always enjoyed a good book. He was a perfectionist at everything he set out to complete, which made his career choice as an auditor so fitting. Everything had to balance… Kent was born in Stony Point NC August 12th, 1935, after high school he went onto college and graduated from Florida State University. He joined the Air Force where his career as an auditor began. He served his country and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the USAF He started a second career with the State of Washington as a senior level auditor. During both of his careers and traveling the world he has made many friends that have lasted a lifetime. Kent was a very compassionate and kind man who never complained with all the challenges he faced in his life always putting his wife (Pat) and family first. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he has touched.
Kent is survived by his loving wife Pat, his son Lee and his Stepsons David Stephens (Cindy), Mark Stephens (Lynn), grandchildren; Cassondra, David Jr., Kirsten, Christopher and his brother Blake. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Salliann & his grandson Karim. Kent was a member of the Life Center in Tacoma, WA where he served the lord and his church as an usher. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Diabetes Foundation.
