Kenneth William Paterson's Obituary
Kenneth William Paterson (Pat) Ken, 74, was born September 21, 1930 in Tacoma, WA and passed away June 24, 2005 at Orchard Park Health Care Center. He was the youngest child of Janet and Bill Paterson. He attended schools in Tacoma, graduating from Stadium High School. He was drafted into the Army September 10, 1951 and served 2 years as an MP stationed in Camp Gordon, Augusta, Georgia. He served with the 562nd Military Police Service Company in Kobe, Japan (APO40) and then with the 565th Military Police Service Company in Nara, Japan, earning the rank of corporal. Ken retired from Allied Paper Company/West Coast Paper in 1991. He served as a truck driver and warehouseman and was a member of the Teamsters.Previously he worked for: Rogers Candy, Harry Brown Candy Company (Brown and Haley) 1949-1950 and Buffelins, Holroyd, Tacoma Waterfront, Ordinance Depot, Ft. Lewis, and Nalleys.Ken was an avid bowler in his youth, often playing on several leagues at once. His favorite pastime was fishing with his best friend, Steve. Ken was a member of the VFW Post 969 AmVets Marching Unit and was seen at parades and community events throughout the region marching in WWI Â"doughboyÂ" attire.Ken was preceded in death by his sisters, Iris Aileen Arnold and Linda Marjorie Lorenzo. Never married, Ken is survived by 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and 6 great nieces and nephews. Ken was proud to have been a life-long resident of Tacoma.Those who wish may contribute to the American Heart Association and/or a favorite charity of choice.
