Royce was my stepfather and a dear, sweet friend to me. He was a father to my brothers and the constant and loving companion to my mother. Their love was a true touchstone of romantic love and long-lived devotion. He lived to make her happy and she lived to adore him. We will all miss his gentle ways and his special wit and humor. I knew him for many years and not nearly long enough.
