Royce was my stepfather and a dear, sweet friend to me. He was a father to my brothers and the constant and loving companion to my mother. Their love was a true touchstone of romantic love and long-lived devotion. He lived to make her happy and she lived to adore him. We will all miss his gentle ways and his special wit and humor. I knew him for many years and not nearly long enough.

Royce was the kindest individual whom we have ever known. It is difficult to recapitulate all of his accomplishments. He was a tremendous patriot having served our country through several wars, accomplished private pilot, dedicated family man, and fantastic physician in two different specialties. In Family Practice he brought many people into the world, performed many surgeries and was loved by the families who he treated. In Anesthesia, I witnessed him saving multiple lives and his skill was unsurpassed.
Royce, may your spirit of kindness and fortitude continue to be our guidance until we meet again.
