Kathleen Harris' Obituary
Kathleen (Felton) Harris, age 56, of Spanaway, Washington, passed away on February 19, 2018. She was a 15-year resident of Anchorage, Alaska and moved to Washington in 2001.
Kathleen was born on July 21, 1961 in Edenton, North Carolina and was raised in Hertford, NC. She was the second youngest of eight children.
Kathleen married the love of her life, Kenneth V. Harris on April 1, 1980. The couple settled in Anchorage in 1985 where they raised their five children: Andre, Danta, Keith, Kenneth Jr., and Kevin.
Kathleen worked in the medical field as a medical receptionist for Providence Hospital; an optical assistant at Elmendorf Air Force Base Optical Shop; and a patient services coordinator for the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority. After her retirement, Kathleen and her husband started their own catering business.
Kathleen was a caring, devoted and loving mother. Her children meant the world to her, and she was so excited to become a “Grandma” to her nine grandchildren. She loved quiet times and family get-togethers; and any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend numerous hours cooking and preparing for their visits as this was one of the many ways she said, “I love you.”
Kathleen was a woman with many talents. She was known for her creativity, stylish dress, hospitality, as well as her culinary abilities. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathleen was the beloved wife of Kenneth V. Harris; devoted mother of Andre Felton, Danta A. Felton, Keith Harris, the late Kenneth V. Harris Jr., and Kevin Harris; loving grandmother of Alphonso Felton, Davonte Felton, Keith Gray-Harris, Layla Harris, Sophie Harris, Aubrey Harris, Lei Mokihana Harris, Kevin Harris Jr., and the late Kaire Harris; sister to, the late Linnur Shamble, Alphonso (Maurica) Felton Jr., Percell (Sheree) Felton, Mary (Robert) Batke, Oliver (Dorothea) Felton, Dorothy (Richard) Felton Banks and Teresa Felton. Kathleen’s aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also mourn her loss.
A Funeral Service for Kathleen will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Valley Chapel with interment to follow at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood.
