Judith Paula Salatino-White
Paula was born on September 8th, 1941, to Paul and Judy Salatino in San Francisco, CA. She passed away on March 18th, 2024, in Puyallup WA. Growing up in Tacoma, she attended McCarver & Stanley and was active in the Girl Scouts at the Tacoma Community House. She returned to the family farm in North Dakota and graduated from Garrison High School in 1959. Paula returned to Tacoma met and married Virgil “Bill” Cody and had her daughter Cindy in 1963. After marrying Bob White in 1973 she moved to Bremerton, WA in 1976, working at Harrison Hospital as a Switchboard Operator. When she moved back to Tacoma after the death of her parents, she started working at Grassi’s & reconnected with her childhood friends, living in University Place until the end. Paula was very outgoing, active in many groups and clubs, both social and religious. She had danced hula and played Hawaiian Guitar as a young girl and continued both the rest of her life. She maintained her friendships for so long, she was able to be involved in the lives of their children and even grandchildren. She loved taking pictures and videos, all things purple, being with friends and family and attending church. She was a wonderful and doting grandmother to Jimmy Lee from 1987 until his passing in 2013. Paula was an amazing woman who will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her two sisters, Dolores & Julie, nephew Daniel, daughter Cindy, and son in law Brian.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28th, 2024, at 3pm at OUR Church, 5000 67th Ave W, in University Place. If able, please wear something purple or Hawaiian.
The Committal service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lakewood at a later date.
