Josie L. Wilson's Obituary
Josie L. Wilson (Nephew) Born Apr. 29, 1915 in Tacoma; passed away Feb. 19, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Josie was recognized as the original producer of the internationally acclaimed recording group, The Ventures. She produced their first gold record, "Walk, Don't Run" in 1960, with many gold and platinum recordings to follow. She also composed several songs. Her poetry, which she began writing when she was in her mid-eighties, has been published in several anthologies. "The Wind Blows East" has recently been released on CD. She most recently co-authored a book about The Ventures' ongoing career. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and 3 grandchildren. Josie is survived by her son Don (Dory) Wilson, daughter Sally (John) Goldyn, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
