Papa, You will be missed.
You have inspired the youth around you, written poems and books that will withstand time, spent your time helping others and making our world a better place. You put your life on the line to assure our freedoms. Thank you. I love you, Papa.##imported-begin##Annee Nelson##imported-end##
I met Joe and Mycki when they owned/ran their boarding kennel in Puyallup and I would traveled from No Seattle to drop off my Kees. Then Mycki (with Joe as her steward) judged several of our Keeshond Breed matches and eventually our Specialty Sweepstakes & Confirmation. No matter how much time goes by between seeing each other at Dog functions, I always received huge hugs wonderful smiles form both Joe and Mycki. I find it difficult to write about Joe without including Mycki as I never saw one without the other. I enjoyed Joe's insights on a wide variety of subjects. But when I picture Joe, it is always his face in one humungous smile and absolute happiness and good will radiating from his eyes. Thank you Joe for being a part of my life.##imported-begin##SueAnne & Skip Nelson##imported-end##
From the first time I met Joe I liked him. In Roy we worked for the candi-
dates he showed me what it meant to be a real man. When Mycki had gotten
ill, we prayed together for her. He told me then he wanted to go before her, because he knew he couldn't live without her. Then my husband Rick and I went to the hospital to see Mycki, and Joe was there too. He was always by her side. That made me respect him even more. He was there watching over her like a loving husband should. In our society that kind of man is rare.
He would do anything for his wife. He was also a patriot. His mind was always on ways he could help make our nation better. His service for our community will not be forgotten. God
bless you Mycki, if you need anything call us.

Dear Mycki, We were very saddened to hear of Joe's passing. His cheerful, positive nature will be missed by all who knew him. Due to my work schedule and two very sick dogs, we are unable to make it to the funeral home today but please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We would like to thank Joe and Mycki for their hours spent judging our breed. The success of a great conformation dog is only as good as the Judges. Joe's opinion was well respected by those who showed under him and he will be missed##imported-begin##Australian Shepherd Club of Washington##imported-end##
Jon and I are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was so dear to all of us and especially children who took dogs to the Lacamas Fair. Thank You Joe. You will be missed by all of us.##imported-begin##Betty Backstrom##imported-end##
