John Harned's Obituary
John Harned was born May 2, 1923; passed away peacefully in Tacoma at the age of 89. He was born in Ursina, PA, the son of Nancy and Edward Harned. After completion of high school he joined the Navy, married his sweetheart Eloise Bowser, and moved out West. John served his country as a Pharmacist's Mate, First Class. After his discharge he graduated from Masonry Technical School and became a well known and skilled masonry contractor in the Tacoma area. John and Eloise were founding members of Christ Lutheran Church, Lakewood. He was an avid sportsman, hunting, fishing, and camping throughout the NW, Canada, and Alaska. After his retirement he maintained his property developments. John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eloise, son Max (the late Autumn), daughter Pam (Bill) Boehm, grandchildren Aaron (E'Shaina), Alisha, Kristin (Thad), Adam (Erica), and great-grandchildren Halle, Kellen and Kasen, nephews Keith and Ron, and brother Joe Harned. He was preceded in death by brothers James, Robert, and Charles, a nephew, Lynn, and by his cherished daughter-in-law Autumn. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Weatherly Inn Tacoma for their loving care, and special gratitude to nurse Claire and support staff at Franciscan Hospice. A private family service will be held. We remember Dad for his wonderful humor, honesty, kindness, and hard work throughout his life... rest in the peace of heaven.
