My Dear Little Brother,
It has been a year ago today that you went to be with our Lord. What an outstanding year it must have been for you! I have thought of you every single day and while I know I would not have seen you every day, your presence on this plant has been terribly missed. You made this world such a better place for so many. I just want to share this poem with you and let you know again today that you are dearly loved.

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

I will miss john very much. I was one of the kid's that ran around with John when we were at the age of 11or12 on the hill top. My brother Dick Morgan sold John the old Cushman scoter that john pain's takenly restored.I moved to Juneau in 1967 and had seen john only one time after that, in about 1979. He was very much on his way in life and had started to collect cars. I was around when he had his 1951 chev and his yellow Plymuth. John was a very happy man and was alway's around for help and advice.As long as I had known John he was a very giving man and would alway's go out of his way to help anyone who needed him. He was a good friend and lived life on life's terms.He was alway's happy no mater what chalenge came his way. I will alway's miss John and I feel that he is with God now.If I can be half the Man as john was I know that I will meet with him again. Dear Chris and family,
When someone met John the bond was immediate, you knew you had a friend for life. What we'll miss (Tom & I both) is his ear, heart, hands that John gave us both and of course some opinions and advice sometimes asked for or not. I have bonded with few like this in my life.

My heart is shattered, as is all of ours, by the senseless loss of my little brother. I can still see his little legs pulling his red Radio Flyer (bigger than he was) full of "treasures" home to proudly show his family.His life has proven to be one of treasures of the heart as shown through the outpouring of love on these pages and at his memorial. You know John was more than a friend to me. He was a brother,a father,a MENTOR, but most of all someone I wanted to be.I told John I wanted t be just like him when I was six.When I got out of Navy, I said I'm going to TRY to be like YOU. Tell John I'm still trying.

I am so terribly sorry for the loss of Johnny. I've known Johnny & Kezia all of my life, as my sister Gloria & I grew up on Wilkeson Street as well. Our Mother's were very good friends (bingo & drinking buddies). I have many, many fond & funny memories of growing up with the Holloway's. Johnny in the yard building a bicycle, go-cart and then the car (the yellow Plymouth) with all his guy friends standing around watching him and us girls bugging the guys. I hadn't seen Johnny in many, many years, but will remember him and all the many memories on Wilkeson Street forever.
