John Alfred Burton
Born Gallipolis, Ohio June 7, 1921 to John and Mae Burton. Passed away at home at the age of 91 on June 26, 2012. Survived by wife of 56 years, Kuniko; children Barbara, Fernando (Mary); grandsons Colin and Kramer; brothers Herb (Betty), Homer; sisters Juanita, Evelyn. Preceded in death by brother, Doug.
John entered military service at an early age and served in the Army during WW2 and the Korean conflict. John retired as an Army NCO, having served 20+ years. He then worked for and retired from West Coast Grocery.
John had a zest for life, an infectious laugh, and an ability to light up a room. He had a love of friends, family, fishing, laughing, children, and casinos.
We will celebrate John's life with a memorial, reception and graveside service with military honors on Friday, July 6 at 1pm at Mountain View Memorial Park's Aspen Chapel: 4100 Steilacoom Blvd, SW,Lakewood.
