John A. Feutz's Obituary
John was born November 18th, 1949 to Harold and Leona Feutz in Tacoma, WA. He passed away February 4th, 2005. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 30 years, Cathy, and their three children Erin, Karyn (Scott), and Andrew (fiancé: Lindsey). Also by his father Harold, brothers Richard and Brian, sister Caia and many nieces and nephews. He devoted his life to the community of Lakewood, in which he was born and raised and remained a citizen of for his 55 years of life. A graduate of Clover Park High School in the class of 1968, University of Washington in the class of 1972, and University of Puget Sound Law School in the class of 1977. In school and in life, he was both a sports enthusiast and great politician. He practiced his passion of law within various organizations and volunteer positions. John was a member of the Washington State Bar Association, Washington State District and Municipal Court Judges Association, the Clover Park School Board, The Rotary Club of Lakewood, the Kiwanas Club of Clover Park, the founding board of the City of Lakewood, the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association, Lakewood Soccer Club Board, founding member of the Tacoma Rugby Club, and Lakes High- Mann Jr. High- Lake City Elementary School PTSA. He held occupational positions such as Executive Director, Prosecuting Attorney, Associate of Private Firms, State Certified Instructor of Washington Real Estate Law and Business Law, Sole Practitioner, Judge Pro Tempore in Pierce County, and Municipal Court Judge for the City of Lakewood. He loved to and spent most of his free time with friends and family. He enjoyed camping, taking family vacations, building model boats and collecting antiques. He was a great man and amazing father, always eager to lend a helping hand and share ideas, give him a subject and you will be in conversation with him for hours. He had a lot to give and those who he surrounded himself with were blessed to receive. He is loved by many and will be missed by us all greatly. He leaves us far too early and we can only hope that he will be with us, sharing our life experiences, until we can all be together again.
