Jesse Wayne WillsJesse Wayne Wills passed away suddenly and unexpectedly September 15, 2004.Jesse was born on February 23, 1925 in LaCenter, Washington to Joe E. and Anna V. Wills. He graduated from Woodland Grade School and Woodland High School. He served during World War II in the Merchant Marine in the Pacific Theatre and from September 1945 to September 1947 in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Jesse moved to Olympia in 1958 and retired in 1986 from the City of Olympia Department of Engineering after 25 years of proud service. He was a former member of the Mountaineers and a life-time member of Masonic Lodge #1. He met his loving wife Arlene in 1968 and they were married in 1969. They lived together for 35 wonderful years in Tacoma. Jesse was a Christian, and he and Arlene attended Life Center Assembly of God in Tacoma.Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Arlene. He is also survived by two sisters (Donna June Cline and Joanne Earl Frost) and four children, Kay Cooke (Bob), Ted Wills (Teresa), Ken Oswald (Karen), and Don Oswald (Chris); six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Siblings who have passed before him are John Edward and Franklyn Earl Wills.Jesse was a fine husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is deeply loved by all his family and we all miss him dearly. JesseÂ's strong work ethic, devotion to his family, and sound advice will be his legacy for all who have loved him. He will also be remembered for his love of music, dancing, hiking, mountain climbing, gardening, and wood working.Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association or other favorite charities. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., Mountain View Garden Chapel.
