James E Lowe's Obituary
James Edward Lowe affectionately called Eddie, Jim, or long ago, Beanpole, was born June 30, 1933 in Mallard Iowa, the 2nd of 8 children from Martha and Leonard Lowe. He joined his childhood sweetheart, Karilyn, in Heaven on February 18,2023. We can almost hear mom asking "Eddie! What took you so long?"
His childhood years were spent growing up in Ayrshire, Iowa and after graduating, he joined the Air Force and married Karilyn. He raised 6 daughters on military pay and often 2nd and 3rd jobs. We were fortunate during his military career to live in multiple states traveling and camping at KOA campgrounds as we relocated.
In retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed gardening and their beautiful yard showed it, Dad was the quintessential family man, always horsing around with us girls, playing games and later doing the same with his grandkids. They loved being grandparents not only to family but neighborhood kids and stray animals as well.
Those left to honor his memory are his 6 daughters, Denise Spring(Steve), Sheryl Manning(John), Kim Howard(Bobby), Lynda Lowe-Deringer, Laurie Newsham(Mike) and Jamie Ordonia. His siblings Donna Whitmer (John), and Terry Lowe(Virginia). 17 grandchildren numerous great children and extended family.
James was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his son Jimmy in infancy, granddaughter Amanda, 5 siblings, and 4 great grand children.
We wish to thank Franciscan Hospice, Kindred Care and Dr. Yuvienco. We are so grateful for our sister Sheryl and husband John for opening their home to our dad and along with our nephew Michael, for providing loving and compassionate care. Dad will be forever in our hearts...he is our Sunshine.
