James Swen Lovstrom's Obituary
James Swen Lovstrom (Jim) passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of May 18, 2015. He was born in Tacoma on July 4, 1945, the son of Gust and Esther (Anderson) Lovstrom. He was raised in University Place and graduated from Curtis Hugh School in 1963. He served in Viet Nam in the U.S. Army in 101st Airborne, Company “C”/502nd Infantry. He retired in 2007 from Tacoma Public Utilities where he performed body repair on their fleet of trucks and cars.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marsha; brother Larry of Tacoma, sons Mike, Coeur d’alene, Idaho, and Glen of University Place; stepdaughter Jennifer (Brad) Myers, DuQuoin, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jamie and Dylan Lovstrom of University Place, Suzanne (Mote) Porter, Lawton, Oklahoma and Ryan Mote, University of Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Michael Holland.
Jim loved to golf, fish and do woodworking projects. He is an inspiration to all on how to live life to the fullest with a smile and pleasant attitude. We will miss his smile and will cherish the memories he gave us.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at The City of University Place Town Hall on Sunday, June 28 from 1-3 p.m.
