James Arthur Corey's Obituary
Honoring the Life of James Arthur Corey
November 29, 1952 - March 28, 2025
On March 28, 2025, we said goodbye to our father, brother, and friend, James Arthur Corey, who passed away in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington.
Born on November 29, 1952, in Tacoma, Washington. He was a loving father to his children: Sheila Bach, Catherine Hidalgo, and Christopher Corey. His nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were the light of his life, bringing him immense joy. He is survived by his brothers Chuck and Carl and is reunited in peace with his beloved wife Ronda Corey, his parents Calvin Clive Corey and Louis May Sherwood, and his brother Calvin.
James had a heart of gold and a mischievous sense of humor. His funny, sarcastic dark humor kept us all on our toes and filled our lives with laughter. Looking just like Santa Claus, he embraced it wholeheartedly, dressing up as Santa at PetSmart to support greyhound rescue—a cause close to his heart. A collector of many things, he found joy in little treasures, each holding its own story.
He touched the lives of those around him with his kindness and unique way of seeing the world. We will miss his laughter, his stories, and the warmth he brought to our lives.
James, you will forever remain in our hearts.
