I have known Jim for about 28 years. It all started out at Chalet Bowl with him as my bowling coach, and boy did he ever have his hands full with me. He taught me all the right things to do, then I developed all the bad habits he had to attempt to correct. After several years of his coaching I was consistently beating him, but that never stopped him from giving me advice when I was down or bowling bad. Whenever I would bowl a good game or series, he was always there to say "remember to thank your coach". Jim was more than just a coach though, he was a great man with a heart of gold who was always there to watch all our bowling matches, no matter how far he had to drive to watch us all. I remember one tournament, probably late 1980's early 1990's Amy and I were bowling in and we couldn't decide on a team name. Jim and Amy were looking over the sign up sheet and it said Rules on back, for the rules of the tournament, that ended up being our team name Rules on Back, so it read Chad Rules, Amy Rules, etc on the back of our team shirts. His shirt said "couch" instead of coach, not sure why but he wore it for a long time even after the tournament. I will always remember Jim's laugh and corny jokes. I am sure he is already looking for Earl Anthony to strike up a game in heaven. RIP Jim, I am glad to know you are now free from pain. Please say Hi to my mom for me.
