Miss you so much…

Being a distant cousin of Jackie, I was introduced to her in June of 1984 in my hometown of Greenville N.C. where we both were raised. My father, Frank James Norris made sure that I knew I had relatives in Washington which I am so grateful for. Having an unfortunate incident which changed my career path leaving me undecided on my future, she invited me to visit Tacoma which was one of the best experiences in my life as young man. Anyway, the summer of 1984 I had the opportunity to drive my spanking brand new, candy apple red Z-28 Camaro nearly 3,000 miles across country to visit my family which was clearly a life changing experience. She opened her beautiful home to me and literally treated me as her son and I in return respected and looked up to her as my mother and did everything in my power to make her proud of me. She meant everything to me and I made sure she knew it. After a short few years I decided to return back east and attended Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, N.C., but never losing touch with her. Well, life ran it's course and I became a contractor for the government and relocated military families from Fort Bragg, N.C. to Fort Lewis, Wa. which gave me the opportunity to visit her often which we both enjoyed whether we would go and get our feet done or simply sit on her back deck overlooking her gorgeous, manicured backyard enjoying a good bottle of red wine. Oh how I miss those days and wish I could spend even one more day with her. I could go on forever explaining how much this woman meant to me. I'm left only to hold on to our memories until we meet again some day. Rest in peace my cousin Jackie and I pray that the good Lord allows us to share another glass of red wine together one day ! Lastly, I know you're looking down on me as I continue to do my thing down here taking care of my family and making power moves which you always encouraged and praised me for. You inspired me and played a big role in me becoming the man I am today. Thank you !

Sending my sincere condolences. When I discovered that Aunt Jackie had passed, I was deeply saddened. I will always remember her kind sweet spirit and beautiful smile.

Oh, Mrs. T. So many memories. I've thought of you often over the years. I'm sorry I didn't try harder to see you. Bob was the lucky one to run into you at Safeway. I was the lucky one to have worked with you and bowled together for years. As I said at your retirement, you are my mentor, my teacher, my idol, my friend. Good night, Jackie, sleep tight. I'll see you on the other side. Peace.
