Irene Maxine McNett's Obituary
Maxine was born on April 18, 1925 in Tolar, New Mexico to Grady R. and Jennie Core. She passed away on March 5, 2007 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington. She grew up in New Mexico and Colorado. During World War II she moved to Tacoma where she met and married George H. McNett. Together they raised four boys. Maxine was very active in the LDS church and loved archery, camping and serving as Den mother when the boys were in scouting. George and their oldest son, Steve, participated with Maxine in archery exhibitions and competitions. She retired after working 20 years for the Franklin Pierce School District in food services.For her 40th high school reunion, Maxine wrote the following to describe her life: ,"As I look back I have had a good life. Some pit falls, but am looking for more happy times as George and I enter into , old age,'. But the nice thing about now is we are old enough so we don,'t have to apologize to anyone for our actions. A beautiful feeling.,"Maxine was preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by her four sons Steve (Melinda) of Portland, OR; Ed (Diane) of Aberdeen, WA; Grady (Karen) of Salt Lake City, UT; Dave (Kathy) of Elma, WA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Maxine will be honored at a graveside service at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma, WA at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 8, 2007. A celebration of her life will follow in the Willow Room in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center with a light luncheon served.
