Irene gave me a gift of immeasurable value. Irene and I became acquainted at Agnus Dei Lutheran Church and shared many stories during the fellowship coffee hour. When the time came that she wasn't able to stay for coffee, needing to get home to Robert, they welcomed me to their home every Monday evening to continue our fellowship and to share the love of Christ. Those years were a gift to me. When Robert passed away and Irene moved to Tacoma, I missed our conversations, but was able to visit enough to know she was surrounded by friends and always had the steady support of loving family. Irene was a role model for me of a gently strong, loving and capable woman. I will always be grateful for the gift she gave me.

To the family of my sweet friend "Adelaide". This was a nickname that only she and I used. I loved Irene very much and was heartsick to hear of her passing. But the saving grace is that she is now with Robert again. That's what gives me peace about this. Aside from the fun we had at the Harbor Inn and the years following, what amazed me most about Irene is that she never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything. Her positive and fun spirit made her the sweetest person I've ever known.

Fred & Family,
I am very sorry to have read of your Mom's passing in yesterday's paper. Please know my thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Irene was a very special person to me. We were saddened to learn of Irene's passing. Ralph and I have many fond memories of Irene and Bob. I loved your mother dearly. She had such a positive attitude and taught me much about life and friendship.
